Most people who call me for training are at the end of their rope with their horses. Ground manners like kicking, running you over, pawing, not loading and riding manners, spooking, bucking, rearing are all consequences of not being consistent with your horse. Rewarding them at the wrong time, not putting them back in place when responding to you in a negative way, becomes very confusing .
You may think that you are communicating with your horse on his level, but unfortunately in most cases "YOUR NOT"! (Not any fault of your own) A horse knows when you know and knows when you don't, you cannot fool or trick them! It is important to become the alpha, this isn't through fear but through earning their trust & respect.

When I work with a horse, I always start with ground work, it tells me what is going on with the horse and what problems I may encounter . It doesn't take a horse long to figure what you know & what you don't! When they realize you understand them, their whole demeanor changes. That doesn't mean they won't make mistakes, they will! Good, bad or indifferent, once something is in your horses head, its there to stay! (That is where confusion happens in your horses head) I will help encourage the good and discourage the not so good habits, this is where being consistent is a must.
We will address a number of problems associated with resistance, short side, long side, stuck in their neck, behind the leg, these are not traits I like to encourage in my horses. They often lead to rearing, bucking, spooking and running off.
Once all the pieces have been put together properly in the round pen and on the crossfire halter, everything else will fall into place. Saddling, bridling and long-lining will be the next steps in his training followed by riding.
I don't consider myself a cowboy/ cowgirl, I am a person who has found an easier way for people and horses to co-exist.
My goal is that you'll both be safe and become willing, working, partners in whatever you do together.
